Reference Databases

Library databases contain online magazine and newspaper articles, encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, auto manuals, almanacs, standardized tests (GED, SAT), and other reference books in many subject areas.

As a patron of TRL, you can use the library databases from within any Timberland library. You can use most databases from home with your library card number and PIN. If you don't have a card, you can apply for one in any Timberland library.

American National Biography Online (Oxford) Biographical information on over 17,000 men and women--from all eras and walks of life--whose lives have shaped the nation. Only deceased persons are profiled in the database. Ancestry Library Edition (Proquest) Genealogy information and records including US Immigration records, Social Security Death Index, and Census images from the US, UK, and Ireland. (This database is only available if you are in a Timberland library. It is not available to patrons outside the library.) (printing tip) Britannica Online for Kids Encyclopedia for elementary, middle, and high school students. Business Plans Handbook Vols. 1-10 (Gale) Each volume contains 25 business plans compiled by entrepreneurs seeking funding for small businesses.

C top	Centralia Chronicle Archive (NewsBank) Local and regional news articles by Chronicle staff from 10-31-02 to the present. Note: The Centralia Chronicle sends updates to NewsBank every two or three weeks. If you are looking for a recent article from the Chronicle, you may have to wait a week or so for the next update.
